We were invited to play a mid-week game against Swansea Valley as Neath Schoolboys had cancelled at the last minute.
We arrived at 5pm for a 6pm kick off and the boys earned up well. The ground was firm but lovely and flat.
The hosts started well and we were penalised a lot on the floor and at ruck time. They gave us a torrid time and turned over a lot of ball on the floor. This allowed them to build a healthy lead and they were 4 trys to the good by half-time.
We changed our tactics after the half and endeavoured to keep the ball off the floor as the game went on. This paid dividends and we ran in a few trys of our own to keep the scoreboard ticking over. The forwards worked hard to provide decent ball to the backs and we started to find a lot of space out wide. Isak had a field-day and finished off some lovely moves to get us right back into the game.
Swansea Valley never gave up though and just kept coming back at us. We were exchanging trys right up to the last whistle where the game ended, honours even at 65 a piece.
It was a great game of rugby and lovely to keep our newly found unbeaten streak going into the next game against DC Thomas Cup semi-finalists, Vale of Glamorgan on Saturday.
