Bridgend Schoolboys

As expected it was another tough test on the road at Pyle RFC. We knew Bridgend Schoolboys would give us a decent test before our first cup game on Friday night.

We started slowly again and they punished us for this with some ruthless running and passing. They spread the ball wide very quickly and caught us out on a few occasions. They were clinical and capitalised on our errors.

We genuinely think that there are only very small margins though and when we get these small things right we will be able to turn things around.

The boys gave us some real selection headaches and a few boys made a good account of themselves and put their hands up for selection for the Cup Squad to face Carmarthen Schoolboys on Friday night.

The Cup rules state that we can only select 16 players and so naturally some of the boys will be disappointed when we announce the squad tomorrow. What we do ask though is that the boys not selected come along and support the team on Friday night.

We have decided to put on an additional training session this week and we are hoping to present all the boys with their kit this week, too. We will let you know as soon as we have finalised the venue, date and time.

We will announce the squad on Monday at midday via the website. We have arranged a coach for the trip on Friday and as this a Cup game the coach will be paid for by the WSRU.
