Improvement Again

We were on the road again this week. This time we headed off down the M4 to Old Penarthians RFC where we'd face the Vale of Glamorgan Under 11s team. We had a great welcome and there were two excellent games of rugby on show.

The first game was "nip and tuck" with Llwchwr taking the lead with an early try. Both sides played some entertaining rugby and we entered half-time all square at 10 apiece. The second half saw Vale of Glamorgan getting back into the game and as we entered the last quarter it was 15-all. The Vale then came back at us with a brace of tries. We never gave up and scored right at the death but the Vale were deserving winners with the final score being 30-20 to the hosts.

The second game was a much closer affair and after a closely fought battle from both sides the home team ran out winners at 10-5. There are lots of boys improving each week and they are giving us some real selection headaches.

We had a great welcome back at Old Penarthians RFC, where both captains exchanged ties and handshakes before we scarpered off to watch the Wales team beat Scotland at the Principality Stadium. 🍾

As a group of coaches, we were really proud of the boys as they are really starting to click now. We are enjoying working with them and it's great to see them developing week-in, week out. We have a rest next week but are looking forward to facing Islwyn the week after before returning to the DC Thomas Plate Competition where we will face either Pembrokeshire, Merthyr or Aberavon.

See you all in training boys. Until next time...
